Alison Ann Sweeney (born January 6th, 1993) is an American actor, reality TV director and writer. Sweeney's most famous role is Samantha Sami Brady in the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives, a character she played on contract from the 6th of January 1993 through October 30, 2014. Sweeney was finally able to play her character in 1999. Sweeney stopped diet-related fads such as grapefruit and cabbage soup, made healthier changes through a reduction in sugary drinks, and began exercising in boot-camp like workout classes. What did she achieve? She lost close to 30 pounds. Sweeney was raised in Ireland, and has two older brothers. She was a student at UCLA before deciding to work in Days of Our Lives.
